Move the GE Profile refrigerator so that you have access to the back of the appliance. Check the bottom of the back of the unit to find the water shut-off valve, which features a conspicuous handle. Twist this handle counterclockwise to shut off the flow of water to the fridge.
Disconnect the refrigerator's power cable from the power outlet.
Open the bottom freezer to access the ice maker assembly. Remove the ice tray on the assembly by sliding it out and pulling it up. The tray is not attached by bolts or screws.
Remove the screws along the ice maker's exterior using a 1/4-inch hex screwdriver. There will be a set of screws along the top and bottom of the assembly.
Find the electrical harness at the back of the ice maker. This harness connects to another harness on the rear of the bottom freezer thanks to a clasp on each harness. Press the clasps together to dislodge and remove the harnesses from one another.
Slide out the ice maker.
