How to Curve the Frame on Window Screens

If your window screen frame is bent or warped, it may not fit flush in the window frame. While you might not be able to get the frame perfectly straight, you can attempt to curve it to get a more secure fit when placed back into the window. This will ensure a smaller gap between the screen frame and the window frame, which will improve aesthetics and minimize insects getting through the gap.

Things You'll Need

  • Clamps

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the screen frame from the window. Place the entire screen frame on a large sturdy table. Allow the screen to overhang the table where you want the curve to be.

    • 2

Clamp the screen frame in position to hold it in place.

    • 3

Gently bang the frame with a rubber mallet where you want the curve to occur. Make sure you bang it in the same spot on the opposite side of the frame for evenness.

    • 4

Inspect the curve periodically until you are satisfied with the bend.
