How To Fix
Step 1
Remove the baseboard from the affected area of the floor. Remove the nails that secure the baseboard in place using the hammer and pry bar.
Step 2
Pry the warped wood flooring up using the pry bar.
Step 3
Inspect the subfloor for damage and make repairs as needed. If there is any water damage, dry out the subfloor completely before proceeding.
Step 4
Replace the damaged wood flooring with new wood that is the same size and thickness. Nail the new wood flooring in place using the hammer and nails.
Step 5
Install wood shims between the new wood flooring and the existing flooring to create a level surface. If the warped flooring spans a larger area, you may need to cut out and replace an entire section of the floor. In this case, use a circular saw to make the cuts and a jigsaw to remove the old flooring section.
Step 6
Sand the new wood flooring to blend in with the existing floor.
Step 7
Replace the baseboard that was removed in Step 1.
This should fix your warped wood flooring. If the problem persists, you may need to consult a professional.
