- New engineered hardwood flooring planks
- Pry bar
- Tape measure

Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the Subfloor
- If the subfloor is uneven or damaged, level it with a self-leveling compound.
- Allow the compound to dry according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- If the subfloor is concrete, install an underlayment.
Step 2: Remove Baseboards
- Use a pry bar to gently remove the baseboards from the walls.
- Be careful not to damage the walls.
Step 3: Remove the Damaged Planks
- Identify the damaged planks.
- Use a pry bar to gently pry up the damaged planks from the subfloor.
- Be careful not to damage the adjacent planks.
Step 4: Measure the Area
- Measure the area where the damaged planks were removed.
- Cut new planks to fit.
Step 5: Cut the Planks
- If necessary, use a circular saw or miter saw to cut the planks to size.
Step 6: Install Wood Shims
- If necessary, install wood shims between the subfloor and the planks.
- The shims will help to level the planks.
Step 7: Install the New Planks
- Position the planks over the subfloor.
- Tap or hammer the planks into place with a mallet.
Step 8: Sand the Planks
- If the surface of the new planks is rough, use sandpaper to smooth them.
Step 9: Stain and Seal the Planks
- If you want a particular color, stain the new planks.
- Allow the stain to dry according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Apply a sealer to protect the planks.
Step 10: Install Baseboards
- Reinstall the baseboards that were removed in step 2.
