Instructions

    • 1

Clean up any remaining standing water with your wet-dry vacuum.

    • 2

Add hot water and nonammonia cleaner to your bucket. The packet should have directions for the amount of cleaner to use, but a few pours should be plenty.

    • 3

Clean all surfaces with the water and nonammonia mixture. Use a sponge to clean off any hard surfaces, such as metal, wood, glass and plastic. Use your mop to clean any hard floor surfaces, such as cement, hardwood or tiles. Use the same mixture of hot water and nonammonia cleaner. Use a scrub brush and the nonammonia cleaner to scrub any carpeting that got wet.

    • 4

Fill your second bucket with hot water and disinfectant chlorine bleach. The ratio should be about one part bleach, 10 parts water.

    • 5

Clean any surfaces with the bleach mixture that have been contaminated by mold. This includes hard surfaces, floors and carpeting. Use a new sponge to clean hard surfaces, a mop to clean hard floors and a scrub brush to clean the carpeting.

    • 6

Rinse hard surfaces with clean hot water and dry them with rags. Dry your carpeting and floors with the wet-dry vacuum.
