Dip a paintbrush into the gelcoat and epoxy barrier coat paint stripper.
Paint the stripper over the gelcoat or epoxy barrier. Paint a very thick layer of paint over the surface.
Let it sit for several minutes until the gelcoat or epoxy barrier begins to bubble and peel from the surface of the boat.
Scrape the gelcoat or epoxy barrier off with a plastic paint scraper.
Rub steel wool over the surface to remove any small pieces of gelcoat or epoxy barrier.
Brush the surface with a wire bristled brush to remove the rest of the paint.
Reapply paint stripper if there is still a good deal of paint on the surface. Repeat the scraping process until the boat is clean.
Rinse the boat with clean water to rinse off the stripper.
Dry the area completely with a clean cloth.
