Do-It-Yourself Stucco Patches

Missing patches of stucco on the exterior of your home are not only unsightly, but can lower the overall value of your home as well. That said, you don't have to call in a professional to fix the problem areas of your home because you can apply new stucco yourself even if you don't know much about home repair. In fact, the entire process can be completed in about an hour.

  • Shovel
  • Mixing bin
  • Portland cement
  • Lime
  • Sand
  • Hawk

Instructions

    • 1

      Mix three shovels of sand with one shovel of cement and 1/4 shovel of lime.

      Add water to the bin very slowly until it is a mushy consistency like peanut butter.

      Add mortar dye to the mixture to match the paint job of your particular home.

      Wet the area you intend to apply the stucco.

      Scoop up some stucco with your hawk and then wipe it onto a trowel.

      Apply the stucco to the wall with the trowel. Apply the stucco in even motions, making sure the stucco is even.

      Pat down the stucco with a sponge to give it a grainy quality. Wait for the stucco to dry.
