How to Install Acrylic Lighting Panels

If you ever spent time in an office, you were probably under the glare of an acrylic lighting panel. These panels are usually installed in ceiling areas, and diffuse the light coming from the bulb. In many instances these panels are square-shaped and are installed individually in the ceiling. If you want some for your home, you don't have to be a professional to install these panels.

Instructions

  Locate the area where you want to install the panel. Turn off the light and slide the frame out of the light fixture.

  Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws on one end of the frame. Remove that end of the frame, and remove the lighting panel from the frame.

  Place the old panel on top of the new panel to ensure the dimensions match. If they don't, use a box cutter to cut the new acrylic lighting panel down to size, so it matches the dimensions of the old panel.

  Slide the new panel into the frame and replace the end of the frame with screws.

  Slide the frame into the light fixture. You can now turn on the lights.
