How to Repair Minor Cracks in Ceilings

  • Ladder
  • Drying compound
  • Putty knife
  • Sandpaper
  • Paint that matches ceiling color

      Set a ladder on a flat, level surface and bring along all of the needed tools for the job.

      Generously apply drying compound to the crack to seal and cover the area. Smooth out the gel-like substance with the putty knife while it is still malleable.

      Leave the compound to dry and settle overnight.

      Sand the excess drying compound from the patch job so it is level with the ceiling.
