Before you begin shortening the headrail, you need to determine if it is necessary. To do this, measure the height of your window from the top of the frame to the bottom of the sill. Then, add 2 inches to this measurement. This will give you the minimum length that the headrail needs to be. If the headrail is shorter than this measurement, you will need to shorten it.
To shorten the headrail, you will need the following materials:
* A hacksaw or miter saw
* A drill
* A measuring tape
* A pencil
* A level
* A screwdriver
* A pair of pliers
* Safety goggles
To remove the blinds from the headrail, first, use a screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the blinds in place. Then, carefully lift the blinds off the headrail.
Now, use the measuring tape to measure the headrail. Mark where you need to cut the headrail. Then, use the saw or miter saw to cut the headrail to the desired length.
Once you have cut the headrail to size, you will need to drill holes for the screws that will hold the blinds in place. Use the drill to drill two holes, each about 1 inch from the end of the headrail.
Now, you can reattach the blinds to the headrail. To do this, insert the screws through the holes in the headrail and into the holes in the blind slats. Once the blinds are in place, tighten the screws.
Finally, you can reinstall the headrail onto the window frame. Align the holes in the headrail with the holes in the window frame. Then, insert the screws through the holes and tighten them.
