* Garage door opener
* Mounting brackets
* Lag screws
* Drill
* Socket wrench
* Level
* Tape measure
Instructions:
1. Measure the height of your ceiling. The garage door opener should be mounted at least 7 feet above the floor.
2. Mark the location of the mounting brackets on the ceiling. The brackets should be mounted on either side of the garage door, about 12 inches from the edge of the door.
3. Drill pilot holes for the lag screws.
4. Insert the lag screws into the holes and tighten them until they are snug.
5. Attach the garage door opener to the mounting brackets.
6. Use a level to make sure that the garage door opener is level.
7. Tighten the lug nut until the opener is snugly secured to the bracket.
8. Plug the garage door opener into an outlet.
9. Test the garage door opener to make sure that it is working properly.
Tips:
* If your ceiling is very high, you may need to use an extension ladder to reach the mounting brackets.
* Be careful when drilling the pilot holes. Make sure that you do not drill into any electrical wires or plumbing pipes.
* Tighten the lag screws and lug nut until they are snug, but do not overtighten them.
* Test the garage door opener before you close the garage door. Make sure that the door opens and closes smoothly.
