How to Repair Prong Scissor Carriers

Scissor carriers are expanding and contracting implements used to attach window blinds to a head rail. They are able to expand and contract with the help of vane inserts. If the vane inserts break, you can repair them by inserting a replacement vane into the scissor carrier. If any other section of the scissor carrier breaks, the plastic can be repaired with a small application of superglue from the hardware store.

  1. Replacing Broken Vanes

Insert your replacement vane through the hole, and press gently until it clicks into place.

Replace the blinds to the scissor carrier and the scissor carrier to the head rail on your window.
