1. Measure the ottoman. You will need to know the diameter and height of the ottoman.
2. Cut the fabric. You will need to cut two pieces of fabric, one for the top of the ottoman and one for the sides. The top piece should be a circle with a diameter that is 2 inches larger than the diameter of the ottoman. The sides piece should be a rectangle that is the height of the ottoman by the circumference of the ottoman.
3. Sew the sides piece together. With right sides facing, sew the two short edges of the side piece together using a 1/2-inch seam allowance. Press the seam open.
4. Attach the side piece to the top piece. With right sides facing, pin the side piece to the top piece, matching the raw edges. Sew around the edge using a 1/2-inch seam allowance, leaving a 4-inch opening for turning.
5. Turn the slip cover right side out. Carefully turn the slip cover right side out, using a point turner or other blunt object to help push out the corners. Press the slip cover flat.
6. Close the opening. Fold the raw edges of the opening inward and sew them together using a ladder stitch.
7. Put the slip cover on the ottoman. Place the slip cover on the ottoman and adjust it so that it fits snugly.
- If you do not have a sewing machine, you can sew the slip cover by hand using a running stitch.
- You can embellish the slip cover with trim, appliques, or embroidery.
- To make a more fitted slip cover, you can measure the ottoman and create a pattern that fits the exact shape of the ottoman.
