Decide on a color scheme and style for the rooms you wish to redecorate, and find materials accordingly. Collect magazine pages, store catalogs, printed digital images, paint samples or fabric swatches. Make illustrations for specific artwork or furniture you wish to buy if you have the artistic skills to do so.
Separate the items into rooms, such as one collection of items for your bedroom and another for the living room. Cut around paper items to remove the excess backgrounds and have just the item you wish to include on your storyboard. Arrange the storyboard items on a flat surface to decide on how they will be placed on the poster board. Place paint or wallpaper colors directly near or behind items in the room, such as a sofa or artwork for the wall, to see how they will look together.
Write a title on the poster board with a felt-tip pen. Separate the poster board into sections for each room or section of your home using a ruler and pen. For instance, if you want to redecorate five rooms, draw five large squares on the poster board, being sure each is large enough for the items you are including on your storyboard.
Glue the pieces to the storyboard in the arrangement you previously decided on.
