Instructions

  1. Muffin Pan Snowman

    • 1

Lay a 6-cup muffin pan on a paint tarp with the bottom of the pan face-up. Paint the bottom of the pan using light blue spray paint. Allow the paint to dry.

    • 2

Paint the bottom and sides of each muffin cup using white acrylic paint. Allow the paint to dry. Repeat with additional coats until complete covered.

    • 3

Rotate the pan and position the short edges at the top and bottom. If your pan has a hole on one short edge for hanging, position this edge at the top.

    • 4

Apply two 1/2-inch round cheeks, spaced 1/4 inch apart, to the center of each painted muffin cup using blush and a cotton swab.

    • 5

Mark a dot on the center of each muffin cup with a pencil. Dip the blunt end of a wooden skewer into black acrylic paint. Dot two eyes 1/2 inch above the center dots and spaced 1/4 inch apart. Paint five dots in a curved smile 1/2 inch below each center dot.

    • 6

Place the bottle tip of the orange dimensional paint on the pencil mark on one muffin cup. Squeeze the bottle to form an orange mound that resembles the size and shape of a chocolate chip. Repeat on the pencil marks of the remaining muffin cups. Allow the paint to dry for several hours.

    • 7

Cut a 10-inch length from 1-inch-wide Christmas ribbon. Bring the ends together and tie in an overhand knot 1 inch from the ends. Apply hot glue to the top edge of the pan, at the center-back. Place the knot of the ribbon in the glue with the loop extending above the edge.

    Wood Scrap Snowman

    • 8

Cut a 2-by-6 scrap of wood 12 inches long using a jigsaw or miter saw. Sand the surfaces and cut edges to remove splinters and rough spots. Note: If you don't have a scrap of 2-by-6 wood, substitute scrap wood with similar dimensions.

    • 9

Paint all sides of the wood using white acrylic paint. Allow the paint to dry. Repeat with additional coats until complete covered.

    • 10

Rip a 2-inch wide by 24-inch long strip from plaid flannel fabric to make the snowman's scarf. Measure 5 inches down from one short end of the cut board. Wrap the scarf around the width of the board at this measurement. Tie the ends in a knot on one side of the board; this is the front of the snowman.

    • 11

Lay the board with the front face-up. Measure down 2 1/2 inches from the top of the snowman. Using blush and a cotton swab, apply two 1 1/2-inch round cheeks, spaced 1/2 inch apart.

    • 12

Mark a dot in the center of the face with a pencil. Dip the eraser end of a new pencil in black acrylic paint. Dot two eyes 1 inch above the pencil mark and spaced 1/2 inch apart. Paint seven dots in a curved smile 1 inch below the pencil mark.

    • 13

Draw a 1/4-inch-thick by 2-inch-long line from the center dot toward the right-hand edge of the board using orange dimensional paint. Allow the paint to dry. Note: Lean this snowman against a wall, bookshelf or your mantel. To hang the snowman, attach a sawtooth picture hanger to the back after the orange paint has dried completely.
