How to Make a Vintage-Inspired Christmas Tree Skirt

### Materials:

- 2 yards of 45-inch wide woven cotton fabric

- 1/2 yard of 45-inch wide felt fabric

- 1 yard of 1-inch wide Grosgrain ribbon

- Sewing machine

- Thread

- Scissors

- Rotary cutter and mat (optional)

- Tape measure

- Iron

- Pins

Instructions:

1. Wash and dry the cotton and felt fabrics according to the care instructions.

2. Cut the cotton fabric into two 1-yard pieces.

3. Cut the felt fabric into a 36-inch diameter circle.

4. Fold each cotton fabric piece in half lengthwise, wrong sides together. Press.

5. Sew a 1/4-inch seam along the long raw edges of each cotton fabric piece.

6. Turn each cotton fabric piece right side out and press.

7. Fold the bottom edge of each cotton fabric piece up 1/2 inch and press.

8. Sew a 1/4-inch seam along the bottom folded edge of each cotton fabric piece.

9. Place the felt circle on the wrong side of one cotton fabric piece, centering it.

10. Pin the felt circle to the cotton fabric piece.

11. Sew a 1/4-inch seam around the edge of the felt circle, securing it to the cotton fabric piece.

12. Cut the Grosgrain ribbon into two 18-inch pieces and two 6-inch pieces.

13. Fold each 18-inch ribbon piece in half and pin it to the right side of the tree skirt, about 6 inches from the center, on opposite sides of the skirt.

14. Sew the 18-inch ribbon pieces in place.

15. Repeat Step 14 with the 6-inch ribbon pieces, pinning them to the center front and back of the skirt, about 3 inches from the center.

16. Your vintage-inspired Christmas tree skirt is now finished!
