Materials:
- Empty shoe boxes
- Black or orange construction paper
- Glue
- Scissors
- Craft knife
- Tape
- Halloween-themed decorations such as spiderwebs, bats, ghosts, and googly eyes
Instructions:
1. Cut out the flaps of the shoe boxes. Cut the construction paper slightly smaller than the flaps.
2. Glue the construction to the shoebox and let it dry.
3. Use a craft knife to cut a small hole in the center of each shoe box.
4. Tape the Halloween decorations to the outside of the shoe boxes.
5. Fill the shoe boxes with Halloween objects such as candy, toys, or prizes.
6. Decorate the boxes with Halloween-themed stickers, markers, or paint.
Once the boxes are decorated and full of treats, children can take turns using their sense of touch to identify the objects inside without looking. You can even create themed boxes, such as a "spider box" filled with fuzzy items, a "graveyard box" filled with bumpy objects, or a "potion box" filled with smooth items.
