How to Make a Flower Arrangement

Gather Materials

- Flowers of your choice

- Clean vase or container

- Fresh water

- Flower shears or sharp scissors

- Flower food (optional)

- Greenery (optional)

- Floral foam or oasis (optional)

Prepare Flowers

1. Use clean tools: Use sharp shears to cut the stems of your flowers diagonally. This helps them absorb water more easily.

2. Remove foliage from stems: Remove any foliage or leaves that could cover the water's surface.

3. Condition the flowers: Place the flowers in a vase of room temperature water. Let them sit for at least 30 minutes or overnight. This will help them hydrate and open up.

Prepare the Vase

- Fill the vase with fresh water, enough to cover the bottom of the stems.

- If desired, add flower food to the water. This can help your flowers last longer.

Arrange Flowers

1. Start with the tallest flowers in the back: This will create a sense of height and depth.

2. Create a triangle shape: Arrange flowers in a triangle shape, with the tallest flowers at the back and the shorter ones at the front. This helps create a visually balanced arrangement.

3. Cluster the flowers: Don't spread them out too much, as this can make the arrangement look sparse. Cluster them together to create a lush look.

4. Add greenery for balance: Use greenery for texture and to fill any gaps. It can also help create a more natural look.

5. Experiment: Don't be afraid to experiment with different flower combinations and arrangements. There's no right or wrong way - just do what looks best to you.

6. Step back and admire your arrangement: Once you're satisfied, step back and enjoy your beautiful work!
