Remove all previous flooring material within the manufactured home, including edging.
Ensure the entire floor surface is clear of debris and that the surface is smooth. Scrapers or sanding tools can be used to remove surface material.
Decide on the way in which the hardwood flooring panels will fit. Start at the side of the room that is the furthest away from the entrance doorway.
Leave a minimum 1/4- to 1/2-inch gap between the flooring and walls to allow for expansion of the wood.
Place the first panel on the ground parallel to the wall. Continue placing panels one after the other. Ensure ends tuck into each other firmly.
Cut the final piece with a power saw when you reach the wall. Sand down the edge if required.
Use the left over piece to start the next row, as long it isn't less than 8 inches. The board will be useless if it is less than 8 inches in length.
Continue laying the floor row by row until the entire floor has been covered. Cut around any obstacles that need to be avoided. Remember to leave 1/4- to 1/2-inch gap around any fixed elements such as pipes or cabinets.
Install the wall floor junction pieces of hardboard around the perimeter so the expansion gap is covered.
