How to Remove Silicone Caulking From a Countertop

Supplies:

* Razor blade or utility knife

* Acetone or rubbing alcohol

* Rags

* Gloves

* Safety glasses

Instructions:

1. Put on gloves and safety glasses.

2. Use a razor blade or utility knife to score the caulk along the edge where it meets the countertop.

3. Be careful not to scratch the countertop.

4. Once the caulk has been scored, pry it up with the razor blade or utility knife.

5. Continue prying up the caulk until it is all removed.

6. Wipe the countertop with a rag dampened with acetone or rubbing alcohol to remove any residual caulk.

7. Allow the countertop to dry completely.

Tips:

* If the caulk is stubborn, you can try heating it with a hair dryer before scraping it off.

* Be careful not to use too much acetone or rubbing alcohol, as it can damage the countertop.

* Always test the acetone or rubbing alcohol on a small, inconspicuous area of the countertop before using it on the entire surface.
