1. Gather your materials and supplies.
2. Cut out the fabric pieces.
You will need to cut out the following fabric pieces:
- Front: 2 pieces
- Back: 1 piece
- Hood: 2 pieces
- Sleeves: 2 pieces
- Cuffs: 2 pieces
3. Sew the shoulder seams.
With right sides together, sew the shoulder seams of the front and back pieces using a 1/2-inch seam allowance. Press the seams open.
4. Attach the hood.
With right sides together, sew the hood pieces along the center seam using a 1/2-inch seam allowance. Press the seam open.
Sew the hood to the neckline of the jacket, aligning the center of the hood with the center back of the jacket. Use a 1/2-inch seam allowance. Press the seam towards the hood.
5. Sew the side seams.
With right sides together, sew the side seams of the jacket, sewing from the underarm to the hem. Use a 1/2-inch seam allowance. Press the seams open.
6. Attach the sleeves.
With right sides together, sew the sleeves to the armholes of the jacket. Use a 1/2-inch seam allowance. Press the seams towards the sleeves.
7. Sew the cuffs.
With right sides together, sew the cuffs to the sleeves. Use a 1/2-inch seam allowance. Press the seams towards the cuffs.
8. Hem the jacket.
Fold the hem up 1 inch and press. Fold it up again 1 inch and press. Stitch the hem in place.
9. Add any desired embellishments (optional).
You can add any desired embellishments to your windbreaker, such as reflective tape, logos, or patches.
