How to Cut Round Glass

Gather the materials and equipment you need.

You will require the following:

* Safety glasses

* Gloves

* A glass cutter or running pliers

* A wet glass saw or angle grinder with a diamond blade

* A pencil or marker

* A tape measure or ruler

* A felt-tipped pen

* A piece of cardboard or MDF

* A piece of cloth or newspaper

Prepare your workspace.

1. Clear a large, flat work area.

2. Cover the work surface with the cardboard or MDF to protect it from damage.

3. Lay the glass on the work surface.

4. Put on your safety glasses and gloves.

Score the glass.

1. Use the glass cutter or running pliers to score the glass in a circle.

2. The score line should be deep enough to break the glass, but not so deep that the glass cracks.

3. Rotate the glass as you score it so that you make a complete circle.

Break the glass.

1. Place the glass on a piece of cloth or newspaper.

2. Use a gentle pressure to break the glass along the score line.

3. Be careful not to touch the broken glass.

Smooth the edges of the glass.

1. Use the wet glass saw or angle grinder with a diamond blade to smooth the edges of the glass.

2. Wear your safety glasses and gloves while you operate the saw or grinder.

3. Be careful not to cut yourself on the glass.

Your round glass piece is now ready to be used.
