#### What You’ll Need
* Plastic bottle like those used for water bottles
* Scissors
* Parchment paper
* Permanent marker
* Oven
#### Instructions
Step 1: Cut the Plastic Bottle
Cut the plastic bottle vertically into two equal pieces. Be sure to remove the cap and recycle it.
Step 2: Flatten the Plastic
With the cut side down, place a piece of parchment paper on top and then set a piece of paper over it.
Step 3: Iron Between Parchment Paper
Iron the paper, applying an even amount of heat and pressure to flatten the plastic on both sides. Be careful not to melt it!
Step 4: Draw on Your Plastic Sheet
Once your plastic is flat, you can start drawing your designs using permanent marker. Be creative and have fun with it!
Step 5: Cut Out Your Design
Let the ink dry completely before carefully cutting around the edges of your designs, leaving a tiny border.
Step 6: Shrink Your Designs
Place the cut designs on parchment paper and put them in the oven at 165°C (330° F) for 3-4 minutes, or until they completely shrink and flatten out. Keep a close eye on the pieces because the plastic can burn quickly!
Step 7: Admire Your Creation!
Once the pieces have completely cooled down, remove them from the paper. Your designs will be much more durable and rigid now!
#### Tips and Tricks
* Use a craft knife or sharp hobby knife for more intricate cuts.
* If desired, trace out your designs on regular paper and place it temporarily under your shrink plastic for accurate tracing before using a permanent marker.
* Ensure that the permanent marker ink dries completely before cutting to avoid smudging.
* Don't use too much pressure when ironing the plastic to avoid any unwanted creasing.
* Don't leave the shrink plastic in the oven for too long as it can get brittle.
* You can add holes to your designs before baking so you can attach key chains or jewelry findings after they shrink.
* Use shrink plastic to make key chains, jewelry, ornaments, gift tags, bookmarks, drawer knob covers, and more!
