Ingredients:
* 1 cup cornstarch
* 1 cup baking soda
* 1/2 cup water
* 1 tablespoon cream of tartar
* 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
* Food coloring (optional)
Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, whisk together the cornstarch, baking soda, cream of tartar, and food coloring (if desired).
2. In a small saucepan, heat the water over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
3. Slowly whisk the hot water into the dry ingredients, stirring constantly until a dough forms.
4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it until it is smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes.
5. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate it for at least 30 minutes before baking.
6. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit (120 degrees Celsius).
7. Roll out the dough to the desired thickness and cut it into shapes using cookie cutters or a sharp knife.
8. Place the shapes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
9. Bake the shapes for 30-45 minutes, or until they are hard and dry.
10. Let the shapes cool completely before decorating them with paint, glitter, or other embellishments.
Tips:
* If the dough is too sticky, add a little more cornstarch.
* If the dough is too dry, add a little more water.
* You can use any type of food coloring to create different colors of dough.
