## Moroccan Wedding Blanket

Skill level: Intermediate

Time: Approximately 20 hours

Materials:

* 2 skeins of Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick yarn in cream

* 1 skein of Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick yarn in deep purple

* 1 skein of Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick yarn in light gray

* 5mm crochet hook

* Tapestry needle

* Scissors

Instructions:

Foundation:

Use cream colored yarn.

Ch 123.

Row 1: Sc in 3rd chain from hook, then sc in each st across (121 sts).

Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Sc in first st, *ch 1, sk next 2 sts, sc in next 3 sts, ch 1, sk next 2 sts*. Repeat from * to * across, finishing with sc in last st (61 sc groups).

Row 3: Ch 1, turn. Sc in first sc of each group (61 sts).

Row 4: Ch 1, turn. Sc in first st, ch 1, *sk 2 sts, work 3dc into next st, ch 1, sc in next 3 sts, ch 1, sk 2 sts*. Repeat from * to * across, finishing with sc in last st.

Row 5 - 51: Repeat Rows 3 and 4. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembly:

1. Weave in ends.

2. Fold blanket in half lengthwise and sew sides together, using a whip stitch.

3. Fold the blanket in half twice (both lengthwise and widthwise) to form a square. Cut the edges with scissors into 1.5-inch strips.

3. To make the tassels, cut 12 pieces of yarn for each tassel, each about 10 inches long. Fold the pieces in half and loop them through a strip of blanket near the edge. Pull the ends of the yarn through the loop to form a knot. Trim the tassels to an even length.

Repeat steps 2 and 3 on all four sides of the blanket. Your Moroccan wedding blanket is now complete!
