- Old sweaters (at least 2-3 per pumpkin)
- Scissors
- Fabric glue
- Poly-Fil (or other stuffing material)
- Twine or ribbon (optional)
1. Prepare the sweaters. Begin by cutting the sleeves and bottom hem from the sweaters. Lay the sweater flat on a cutting board or other hard surface with the front facing up. Using a pair of sharp scissors, carefully cut around the edges of the armhole and bottom hem. Be sure to leave a small amount of fabric around the edges for sewing.
2. Sew the sweater. Take two of the sweater pieces and place them right sides together. Sew around the edges of the sweater, leaving a small opening at the top. Using fabric glue, glue the seams to ensure that they are secure. Turn the sweater right side out and press flat.
3. Stuff the sweater. Take the poly-fil or other stuffing material and begin to stuff the sweater. Be sure to stuff the sweater evenly so that it has a nice round shape.
4. Sew the top of the sweater. Once the sweater is stuffed, sew the top closed. Using fabric glue, glue the seams to ensure that they are secure.
5. Add a stem. Take a piece of twine or ribbon and wrap it around the stem of the pumpkin. Tie a knot at the top to secure it in place.
6. Enjoy your decorative pumpkins! They can be used to decorate your home for fall or Halloween or given as gifts.
