DIY roman shades are a lovely and practical way to add a touch of personalization and elegance to your home.

- Cut the dowels to the same length as the width of your fabric.
- Insert the dowels into the hems at the top and bottom of your fabric.
Step 6: Sew the dowels in place
- Sew a few lines of stitches through the fabric and dowels to secure them in place.
Step 7: Attach the mounting brackets to the wall
- Position the mounting brackets at the desired height above your windows.
- Mark the locations of the screw holes, then drill holes and insert the screws.
- Secure the mounting brackets to the wall.
Step 8: Attach the shades to the mounting brackets
- Slide the dowels of your shades into the mounting brackets.
Step 9: Install cleats or hooks
- Install the cleats or hooks on the wall, spacing them evenly across the window.
Step 10: Attach the cord or rope to the cleats or hooks
- Cut the cord or rope to the desired length.
- Attach the ends of the cord or rope to the cleats or hooks.
