How to Make a Charmander Costume

Charmander is a beloved fire-type Pokémon that is perfect for a cosplay costume. With its distinctive orange and yellow coloration and its fiery tail, Charmander is a fun and easy character to bring to life. Here is a step-by-step guide to help you make your own Charmander costume:

Materials:

- Orange felt

- Yellow felt

- White felt

- Black felt

- Red felt

- Sewing machine or needle and thread

- Stuffing

- Scissors

- Fabric glue

- Fabric marker

- Ruler

- Iron

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Felt.

- Cut out the following pieces of felt:

- Orange: 2 pieces (1 for the body, 1 for the hood)

- Yellow: 2 pieces (1 for the belly, 1 for the tail)

- White: 2 pieces (1 for the eyes, 1 for the teeth)

- Black: 2 pieces (1 for the nose, 1 for the mouth)

- Red: 1 piece (for the flame on the tail)

2. Sew the Body.

- Place the two pieces of orange felt together with the right sides facing each other.

- Sew along the edges of the felt, leaving an opening at the bottom for stuffing.

- Trim the excess felt and turn the body inside out.

3. Stuff the Body.

- Stuff the body with stuffing until it is firm.

- Hand-stitch the opening closed.

4. Make the Hood.

- Place the two pieces of orange felt together with the right sides facing each other.

- Sew along the top and side edges of the felt, leaving the front edge open.

- Trim the excess felt and turn the hood inside out.

- Fold down the front edge of the hood and stitch it in place.

5. Add the Tail.

- Sew the two pieces of yellow felt together along the long edges, leaving the top open.

- Trim the excess felt and turn the tail inside out.

- Stuff the tail with stuffing until it is firm.

- Hand-stitch the top of the tail closed.

- Cut out a flame shape from the red felt and glue it to the end of the tail.

6. Add the Eyes.

- Cut out two circles from the white felt for the eyes.

- Draw a black dot in the center of each eye with the fabric marker.

- Glue the eyes to the front of the hood.

7. Add the Teeth.

- Cut out two small rectangles from the white felt for the teeth.

- Draw a black line down the center of each tooth.

- Glue the teeth to the bottom of the hood.

8. Add the Nose and Mouth.

- Cut out a small triangle from the black felt for the nose.

- Cut out a curved line from the black felt for the mouth.

- Glue the nose and mouth to the front of the hood.

9. Finish the Costume.

- Iron the costume to smooth out any wrinkles.
