Decide what type of facade you want to install. Options include vinyl siding and wood siding, and stone and brick veneers.
Determine whether you want to cover the entire front of your home with a single material, or if you want to combine different materials. For example, you can install stone veneers along the bottom of the house and cover the top portion of the house with wood siding.
Choose a color scheme that suits your taste. If you're opting for bricks and stones, the color scheme is rather standard, but if you're opting for vinyl or wood siding, there are several color options available. Colors range from neutral tones, including white, beige and brown, to bolder hues, such as teal, red and even turquoise.
Hang new shutters once the facade is installed. Choose vinyl or wood shutters in a style and color that coordinates with the new facade. Options include board and batten, louvered and Bahama. Color choices also vary from natural wood to black vinyl.
Update the front door. Replace the existing front door with a new one that ties into the look of the new facade, or paint the existing door to coordinate with the new color scheme.
Add new light fixtures. Hang sconces on either side of the door or suspend a chandelier or a pendant fixture above the doorway.
