Decorating With a Leather Couch & Zebra Print Chairs

Paint

• If the room features a black or white leather couch, play up the zebra theme. Keep the walls white, but designate one side an accent wall by painting it black. For a more subdued look, add black borders to the white walls by using wallpaper or stencils. If you prefer a bit more color, use earth-tone shades, such as olive green or burnt orange. A dark red, like burgundy or maroon, adds a color to any room, particularly against a leather couch and zebra chairs.

Floors

• Complement the leather couch’s stately feel by installing dark hardwood floors, such as dark-chocolate oak or maple. In a room filled with a rustic and battered leather couch, paint the hardwood surface white. Allow the grain to show through slightly, creating a shabby-chic look. • Hanging black and white photos on the wall complements the zebra-print chairs. Maintain an African theme by placing animal figurines on bookshelves or safari-themed coffee table books on tabletops. Add to the theme by using an oversized leather and brass chest as a coffee table. Spread animal-print accessories throughout the room. Cover the couch in cheetah- or tiger-print pillows or throw blankets. Use small items, so as not to overwhelm the room with animal prints.
