Arrange seashells on an antique silver serving tray or inside of a clean glass jar and display the shells on a hutch or empty counter top of the kitchen for simple, sophisticated decoration. Cookie jar-style holders tie the shells into the purpose of the kitchen.
Glue shells of varying shapes and sizes around the border of a photo frame with pane separators. Insert a photo of your favorite beach spot in the frame to create the illusion of a shell-rimmed window looking out to the sea. Hang the piece above the stove or sink for an ocean view while you cook.
Glue the textured side of a small seashell to the textured side of a larger seashell to create a soap holder. Affix the smaller shell to the middle of the shell that will act as a holder, so that the small shell becomes a stand. Place shell holders by the kitchen sink to hold bars of soap or sponges.
Cut a small groove out of the seashell, at the middle of the bottom, straight section to create a spoon rest. Wash the shell well and place it on the stove top or a common work area with the shell sitting on its back, creating a bowl shape so that a spoon sits in the shell with the handle resting in the cut groove.
Drill small holes in the tops of various shapes, sizes and colors of seashells. String the shells onto various lengths of string or fishing wire and tie the strands of shells onto a piece of decorative driftwood to create a wall hanging of cascading shells. Use as few or as many strands as you like to adjust the size of the decoration.
