You will need:
* A cheap kitchen table
* Sandpaper (120-grit and 220-grit)
* A tack cloth
* A primer designed for wood
* Paint in the color of your choice (acrylic or latex)
* A paintbrush or roller
* A clear topcoat (optional)
* Painter's tape
* A drop cloth
Step 2: Prepare the Table
1. Remove any hardware from the table, such as knobs or handles.
2. Use the 120-grit sandpaper to sand the table all over. This will remove any rough spots and help the primer and paint to adhere better.
3. Wipe the table down with a tack cloth to remove any dust.
Step 3: Apply the Primer
1. Apply a coat of primer to the table using a paintbrush or roller. Be sure to cover the entire surface, including the edges.
2. Allow the primer to dry completely according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Step 4: Paint the Table
1. Apply two coats of paint to the table, allowing each coat to dry completely before applying the next.
2. If desired, apply a clear topcoat to protect the paint.
Step 5: Reattach the Hardware
Once the paint is completely dry, reattach any hardware that you removed in Step 2.
Enjoy your newly painted kitchen table!
