Materials:
1. Cardboard Box (preferably medium-sized)
2. Paper Rolls or Cardboard Tubes
3. Scissors or Craft Knife
4. Glue
5. Markers, Colored Pencils, or Paint (for decorating)
6. Rubber Bands
7. Battery-Powered Tea Lights (optional for creating a "light-up" feature)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Box:
- Cut out two large circular or rectangular openings on one side of the cardboard box to serve as eyeholes.
- Cut a smaller circular opening on the top of the box for the robot's "antennae."
2. Create the Arms:
- Cut four paper rolls or cardboard tubes.
- Fold two of the tubes in half. These will be the upper arms.
- Attach the unfolded tubes (lower arms) to the folded ones using glue.
3. Attach the Arms:
- Insert one pair of arms (upper and lower) into each of the eyehole openings.
- Secure the arms by gluing them inside the box.
4. Add the Antennae:
- Insert another paper roll or cardboard tube into the hole on the top of the box. This is the "antennae."
5. Decorate:
- Use markers, colored pencils, or paint to decorate the robot's body and face.
- Feel free to add any designs or features you like.
6. Attach Battery-Powered Tea Lights (Optional):
- If you want your robot to have a light-up feature, place several battery-powered tea lights inside the box.
- Use rubber bands to secure the tea lights in place and ensure they won't move around.
7. Enjoy Your Robot:
- Your homemade robot is now complete! Let your kids play with it and explore their imaginations.
Remember to supervise children during this project, especially if using a craft knife or scissors. Stay creative, and enjoy your family-made robot!
