How to Get Rid of Heat Marks/Water Rings With Baking Soda

Heat marks and water rings from hot and cold drinks can make wooden furniture look old beyond its years. Among its many home uses baking soda works wonders on getting both of these types of marks off furniture. Best of all it's a cheap and non-toxic way to make your dining room table and other furniture pieces look new again.

Things You'll Need

  • Small box of baking soda
  • Non-gel white toothpaste
  • Clean, white soft cloth
  • Small bowl

Instructions

      Measure 1/4 cup of baking soda and pour it into the bowl.

      Measure 1/4 cup of non-gel white toothpaste and pour it into the bowl.

      Mix the ingredients together well using a large spoon.

      Dampen a clean, white cloth with water and dip it into the mixture, which should be a paste by now.

      Gently buff the heat marks or water rings in a circular motion with the cloth for one to two minutes. The marks should disappear; use a damp cloth to wipe the excess paste off furniture.
