Instructions

    • 1

Put gloves, mask and goggles on. Work in a well ventilated area.

    • 2

Coat the desk with a thick layer of the gel paint remover with a natural bristle paint brush.

    • 3

Allow the paint remover to set until the paint is wrinkling up or visibly lifting from the surface.

    • 4

Use the scraper to lift the paint off of the desk. Place the residue in an old paint can that can be sealed.

    • 5

Wipe the piece with the varnish remover.

    • 6

Re-treat any remaining bits of paint with paint remover. Sometimes it takes a second application with a stiff brush to remove paint from cracks and crevices in the wood.

    • 7

Use a stiff natural bristle or plastic cleaning brush to remove the gel and paint from the cracks.

    • 8

Wipe the piece down with varnish remover again.

    • 9

      Proceed with refinishing as desired.
