How to Make a Bed Runner

## Supplies

* 2 pieces of fabric (1 for the top and 1 for the backing)

* Coordinating thread

* Scissors

* Sewing machine

* Iron

Instructions

1. Cut your fabric pieces to the desired size. The width of your bed runner should be about 18 inches, and the length should be about the same as the length of your bed.

2. With right sides together, sew the two pieces of fabric along the long edge, using a 1/2-inch seam allowance.

3. Turn the bed runner right side out and press flat.

4. Fold the raw edges of the short ends of the bed runner under 1/4 inch twice, and press.

5. Stitch the hems in place.

6. Enjoy your new bed runner!

Tips

* To make a reversible bed runner, use two different fabrics and sew them together with the right sides facing each other.

* If you don't have a sewing machine, you can also hand-sew the bed runner.

* You can embellish the bed runner with ribbon, lace, or other trim.

* Bed runners are a great way to add a touch of personality to your bedroom. They can also be used as table runners or decorative accents.
