How to Install Top Mount Window Blinds

## How to Install Top Mount Window Blinds

Top mount window blinds are a type of window covering that is installed inside the window frame, without having to drill holes into the window sill. This type of blind is often used in homes with double-hung windows, as it does not interfere with the operation of the windows.

To install top mount window blinds, you will need the following tools and materials:

* Measuring tape

* Level

* Drill

* Phillips head screwdriver

* Pliers

* Pencil

* Scissors

* Top mount window blinds

* Mounting brackets

* Screws

* Wall anchors

Instructions:

1. Before you begin, clean the window frame to remove any dirt or debris.

2. Measure the width and height of the window frame. The width measurement should be taken at the top, bottom, and center of the window frame. The height measurement should be taken from the top of the window frame to the bottom of the sill.

3. Subtract 1 inch from the width measurement and 1/2 inch from the height measurement. These measurements will give you the size of the window blinds you need to purchase.

4. If your window frame is made of wood, you can simply drill holes for the mounting brackets. If your window frame is made of vinyl or another non-wood material, you will need to use wall anchors to secure the mounting brackets.

5. Attach the mounting brackets to the top of the window frame, using the screws and wall anchors as needed. Make sure the brackets are level.

6. Insert the top rail of the window blinds into the mounting brackets. Push the rail up until it snaps into place.

7. Pull the cords on the sides of the window blinds to raise and lower them.

8. Trim the excess cordage using the scissors.

Your top mount window blinds are now installed and ready to use!
