How to Remove Rebar

Rebar, short for reinforcing bars, exist in concrete walls and structures to provide added support. Once a concrete structure is demolished, rebar may remain intact, causing an eyesore and preventing new building. Rebar is relatively easy to remove with a few construction tools and can be recycled into tent stakes or playground equipment.

  • Sledgehammer
  • Stake puller

Instructions

      Hammer away residual concrete around the rebar using a sledgehammer.

      Hold a stake puller with the lever toward you and the notch at the end around the rebar's base.

      Push down on the lever to eject the rebar.
