How to Make a Elevator at Home for Kids

Materials:

- 2 large cardboard boxes (at least 2 feet tall)

- Heavy-duty tape

- Scissors

- Craft knife

- String

- 2 pulleys

- 2 small wooden dowels

- 2 washers

- 2 nuts

- A piece of plywood (about 1 foot square)

- A drill

- 4 wood screws

Instructions:

1. Cut the tops off of the two cardboard boxes.

2. Tape the two boxes together, side-by-side, to create a single large box.

3. Cut a hole in the top of the box, big enough for your child to stand in.

4. Cut a hole in the bottom of the box, about 6 inches square.

5. Attach the pulleys to the ceiling, about 4 feet apart.

6. Thread the string through the pulleys, and then tie it to the two wooden dowels.

7. Insert the wooden dowels into the holes in the top and bottom of the box.

8. Place the washers and nuts on the dowels, to secure the box in place.

9. Attach the piece of plywood to the bottom of the box, using the wood screws. This will serve as the elevator's platform.

10. Decorate the elevator however you like!

To use the elevator, your child will simply stand on the platform and pull on the string. The elevator will rise to the top, and then they can step off and enjoy the view!
