How to Determine Baseboard Joint Angles

To determine baseboard joint angles:

1. Measure the angle of the walls where the baseboard will be installed. This can be done using a protractor or by measuring the distance from the corner of the wall to a point on the wall that is 12 inches away. The angle can then be calculated using the formula angle = arctan(distance/12).

2. Divide the angle by 2 to find the baseboard joint angle. For example, if the angle of the wall is 30 degrees, the baseboard joint angle would be 15 degrees.

3. Cut the baseboard pieces to the desired length and angle. This can be done using a miter saw or a circular saw with a miter gauge.

4. Install the baseboard pieces by attaching them to the wall using nails, screws, or adhesive. Make sure the joints are tight and flush with the wall.

5. Caulk the joints between the baseboard and the wall to seal them and prevent water damage.
