1. Measure the Gable Width.
- The first step is to measure the width of the gable roof at the point where you intend to install the fascia board.
2. Cut the Fascia.
- Once you have the width of the gable, you need to cut the aluminum fascia to the appropriate size.
- Take the measurement you obtained in Step 1 and cut the fascia using a circular saw.
- Ensure the fascia piece is a snug fit against the gable roof’s edges but not too tight, as you will need to leave a small gap for proper drainage.
3. Mark the Location for the Nails.
- With the aluminum fascia in place and a small gap between it and the gable, use the marking pen to indicate where you will be installing the nails.
- Ensure that the marks are evenly spaced along the length of the fascia, ensuring equal alignment and a secure hold.
4. Install the Fascia with Nails.
- Now it’s time to install the aluminum fascia.
- Place it against the gable roof and ensure it is positioned correctly with the appropriate gap.
- Next, insert aluminum nails into the pre-marked nail locations.
- Using the hammer, drive the nails in until they are flush with the fascia surface, firmly securing it to the gable end.
- Continue installing nails along the length of the fascia, making sure they are evenly spaced.
5. Check and Secure.
- After installing all the nails, do a final check to ensure that the fascia is secure and properly attached to the gable roof.
- If necessary, tap on the nails to make sure they are securely in place and no part of the fascia is loose.
Your aluminum fascia is now successfully fastened to the gable end.
