1. Prepare the Site
* Choose a level spot for the carport.
* Clear the area of any debris.
* Dig four holes for the support posts, each 12 inches deep and 8 inches wide.
2. Set the Support Posts
* Place the support posts in the holes.
* Level the posts and secure them with concrete mix.
3. Build the Frame
* Cut the 2x4s to the desired lengths.
* Assemble the frame using screws.
* Make sure the frame is square.
4. Install the Carport Kit
* Follow the instructions provided with the carport kit to install the metal panels.
* Overlap the panels by at least 1 inch.
* Secure the panels with screws.
5. Finish the Carport
* Caulk the seams between the panels.
* Paint the carport if desired.
* When digging the holes for the support posts, make sure to call your local utility company to mark the location of any underground lines.
* Be sure to level the support posts and the frame before securing them with concrete mix.
* Overlap the metal panels by at least 1 inch to ensure a weather-tight seal.
* Caulk the seams between the panels to prevent water from leaking through.
* Paint the carport if desired to protect it from the elements.
