2. Cut the plywood to the following dimensions:
- (1) 20" x 24"
3. Sand all of the pieces of wood to smooth out any rough edges.
4. (Optional) Stain the wood if desired.
5. Assemble the quilt hanger frame by attaching the 1x6 boards to the plywood backing using wood screws. The boards should be spaced evenly, with about 1 inch between each board.
6. Attach the 3/4" dowel to the front of the quilt hanger frame, about 1 inch from the top, using wood screws. This dowel will be used to hang the quilt.
7. Attach the 1/4" x 1/2" wood lag screws to the back of the quilt hanger frame, about 2 inches from the top, using a drill. These screws will be used to hang the quilt hanger on the wall.
8. Attach the 1" lag hooks to the wall, about 2 feet apart, using a drill.
9. Hang the quilt hanger on the wall by inserting the lag screws into the lag hooks.
10. Enjoy your new quilt wall hanger!
- Make sure that the quilt hanger is securely attached to the wall to avoid any accidents.
- You can customize the size and design of the quilt hanger to fit your needs. For example, you could make a larger quilt hanger for a larger quilt, or you could add additional dowels to hang multiple quilts.
- If you don't have any 1/4" x 1/2" wood lag screws, you can also use 1/4" x 2" wood screws.
- If you don't have a dowel, you can also use a piece of 1x2 lumber for the dowel.
