Preparing your vanity cabinet
Step 1: Remove all hardware.
Remove the knobs and pulls from the cabinet doors and drawers. Use a cordless drill to remove any screws and bolts.
Step 2: Clean the cabinet thoroughly.
Use a mild soap and water solution and a scrub brush to remove any dirt and grime from the cabinet. Be sure to dry the cabinet thoroughly before proceeding.
Step 3: Sand the cabinet.
Use a fine sanding sponge to sand the cabinet lightly in all areas. This will help to smooth out any rough spots and allow the paint to adhere better.
Step 4: Protect your countertops and floors.
Cover countertops with plastic sheeting and floors with painter’s drop cloths. Secure with painter’s tape.

Step 5: Apply primer.
Apply primer to the cabinet door and drawer fronts using a foam or paintbrush. Allow primer to dry according to manufacturer’s instructions.
Step 6: Paint the cabinet.
Paint the cabinet using a high-quality paint and a foam roller. Be sure to apply even, thin coats of paint, allowing each coat to dry thoroughly before applying the next.
Step 7: Apply a sealant.
Once the paint is completely dry, apply a water-based sealant to the cabinet. This will help to protect the paint from water and moisture damage.
Step 8: Reinstall the hardware.
Once the sealant is dry, reinstall the cabinet knobs and pulls.
Your newly painted bathroom vanity cabinet is now ready to enjoy!
